It was decided that an interesting way to do this web site would be to do a blog type entry on a daily basis.
This might be an interesting way to show what the day to day running of a shop is like. Also, to show what is new to our shop including photographs as well. It is also a way for me to let my personality come across. Not that any one will actually read this daily, but hey you never know. I also want to use this to show wip’s, not only mine, but my Mom and Jo’s as well. Maybe it will help encourage us all to stitch more. There will also be stitching tips. We can all use those, and if my dad is in his usual rare form, we will have "Jackisms" as well. As you read some of those it will begin to show on which side of the family I got my personality gene.
Besides co-owning this shop with my folks I also work at Einstein’s Bagels as one of the bakers. Currently I have the weekend shift and I’m not real crazy about that. It’s super busy which I do like, but I like having the weekends off. Well we all want our weekends off, but I want them off because I have show dogs and the dog shows are on weekends. Go figure! Just in case you’re wondering, my husband and I have Old English Sheepdogs. I figure that there will be times where I am talking dogs as well as cross stitch. Then again, bagels might enter the conversation as well.
My best friend will also be adding her 2 cents worth on here so you will get to see 2 opinions as to what needs to be done in the shop. I am also a needlework designer. I do not have great fame as yet, and I have to say that I really do not have a specific style, but the ladies that come into the shop seem to know what my stuff is. I have 2 styles, elegant and whimsical. I like doing both.
The whimsical tends to be Santa’s but I have also done some Halloween designs and then there was my "Let It" series, as in snow, melt, shine and blow.
My designs can be seen on this site, I think that’s working but it is not up to date. We, Jo and I will be working on that as we get better at this posting thing.
Thank goodness I have a husband that’s really good at this and is helping me do this.
