Some days it does not even pay to get out of bed!
As days go, this one was a bit of a stinker. I got no stitching completed. I got locked out of my computer so I could not order anything online, and I was basically alone. Jo was with me today and she really can be a lot of help. (Thanks for getting my lunch Jo) We really did not have any customers to speak of today. I think it was because the weather was a bit icky. I was trying to decide if it was going to snow or just be overcast. It WAS cold however, so I think everyone stayed home today.
I wanted to stitch, actually I wanted to start stitching on that mystery design of mine, but it’s not done being designed so how do I expect to stitch on it if I have no idea of the size of fabric I’m going to need. Honestly, I wonder about me sometimes.
Tomorrow I will order from JABC, add to the Wichelt order if I can get online and also do the Thread Gatherer order. It won’t be huge, but it will have to be done since several ladies need certain colors to do various projects. I also need a color for one of Martina’s designs so it would be a good idea to get my act together and get it done. I think that will be the last of the ordering. I do need to get some items from Fleur De Paris, so I’ll call them in the morning. I will even go in early just to take care of that stuff. Since my mom had her eye surgery today, my dad will not be there in the back on the computer. He and I share a desk, and if he is on his computer I can not get on mine. That usually means that I can not get the ordering done till afternoon, and then we usually get busy. Since he gets there at the crack of dawn like my mom does, it would not make any difference how early I got there.
Tomorrow I will also try to get the front of the shop vacuumed as well. I think my area has had several beads dropped and I need to get that cleaned up. Might also be a good idea to vacuum around the cutting table to get up all the little threads. I need to take the serger down the Brian and see if he can figure out why it’s not working. We serge or zig-zag the edged of fabric we sell. Zig-zaging makes it nice for the customer if they want to begin the project right away without the extra delay of having to do that at home.
Have I mentioned that we sell our fabric by the square inch. We also sell our silk fibers like Waterlilies and TG as well as Gloriana by the strand.
With luck I can post again tomorrow
Did I also mention that Angie quit? Sing this to the tune Baby face. Angie quit, la la la la la la la Angie quit, this means that I work week days not la la la oh how great it is that Angie quit la la la la la la la well you get the idea .
So now I get to work Friday thru Thursday this next week till the weekend baker I trained 2 months ago can take over. I wonder if I will be training someone else. The weekdays are slow, but it will be a nice change of pace for me.
