Needle Nutz, Inc.

Another week begins.  The shop is closed today for President’s Day so I am actually at home writing this. The mad dash for ordering begins tomorrow. I really have to get books ordered as well as some stuff from one of my favorite distributors, Norden Crafts.

Sunday I was going to go to the dog show, but ended up staying at home. The DH and I washed Dickens and then blew him dry as well. He did really well considering the last time we did it he was about 2 months old. Now he’s 17 months old. He should be starting his show career in April if he has enough fur. He’s certainly growing out wonderfully, but he might slow down you never know. I’m pretty sure we will be able to go in the summer months.  After we were done with him, he took an extended nap on the couch in the family room. Poor thing, he was tuckered out.

I was commenting to the hubster yesterday that there has been nothing worth watching on TV lately. How sad is that? If I decided to play hooky from the shop it would not be worth it because there is nothing on TV worth staying home to watch. There is actually more exciting things going on at the shop. For one thing you get to see about a zillion emergency vehicles going up and down Academy Blvd. Guess we are a popular area since the community hospital is just up in the next block or so. Then again I have my books on CD there and I get a lot of stitching done while I listen. Of course there are the customers that come in to entertain me as well. Now I bet you never thought of it that way did you? I sit there peacefully just waiting for someone to come in so that they can entertain me. Most of our customers are good at that. They have very interesting things going on and they get to go around places. I never go anywhere except Einstein’s, Hobby Lobby, Michael’s and the grocery store.  Now there is an exciting life to be led! Okay, maybe once in a great while I actually get to go to Best Buy but honestly that’s it. I cannot even remember the last time I was actually in the mall. Do they still have good shops in the mall? I do most of my shopping for other than food stuff on line. My dog food is delivered to me at my shop once a month. (My handler’s mom goes to Denver to get it for several of us down here). Actually I forget what I’m complaining about.

I do remember something about customers. I love our customers. I love the fact that they come in, sit down at the front table and talk to my mom and I. Sometimes they bring in their stitching and stitch with us as well. That’s really the fun part. I love seeing what everyone is working on.  I did get that Lizzie Kate completed on Saturday, now I am working on “Polar Express” by Pickle Barrel Designs.  Very cute design! I’m into the winter thing right now, no idea why. When I complete this one, I will go back to the Martina design “Alpine Seasons”. I want to get it completed or almost completed by the time St Petersburg begins on 1 March. I’ll get a late start on it because I have not ordered my fabric yet. That’s another thing I have to do on Tuesday, order fabric from PTP and SMF, as well as some stuff from Wichelt. (Picture This Plus and Sugar Maple Fabrics).

Well I guess I should go feed the critters and change out of my bagel clothes. I really need to do laundry today so I have something else to wear. I’m really glad the hubster got this going for me again, I’m going to be so much better about keeping up with the new stuff, maybe figuring out how to post photos and other great stuff like that.
